THE JOURNAL

Maloja Stories

Nordic Kit

Two years ago, the company Sporten in the Czech Republic came to us and asked whether we could kit out their test team and athletes with our clothing. We then came up with the idea of trading apples for pears – or more specifically, clothing for cross-country skis.

New School

Maloja was founded 15 years ago on the concept of combining function and style. Our goal was and is to this day to ensure you to feel comfortable in your bike gear after a ride, whether at a café or beer garden. Therefore, we were the first brand in mountain biking to offer both skin-tight cycling bibs and cool, relaxed riding shorts.

Going our own way -
the maloja story

When Peter Räuber and Klaus Haas made the decision in 2004 to found their own sports and streetwear brand, they had a vision: To connect work and life. To build a company where values such as respect and fairness play a pivotal role. To link function with style. And, last but not least, to go their own way.

HEMP. NATURAL DIVERSE FUNCTIONAL NO II

Hemp is one of the oldest utilitarian crops in the world. Its fibres were used to make ropes and sails for Columbus, paper for Gutenberg’s Bible and clothing for humans long before we even had calendars. After the 1950s, hemp sort of slipped into obscurity, but interest has grown steadily in recent years because there is virtually no other natural material that has such a positive ecological balance while still providing such outstanding functional qualities.

WHO’S MALOJA?

FOR THOSE WHO
JUST FOUND
OUT ABOUT US

Maloja is a small clothing brand located in South Germany in Bavaria. Is it because we are closer to the limits of the sky, or due to the elemental forces that created the mountains millions of years ago? Possibly it is the feeling of freedom created by the breathtaking views atop of the world. Whatever the reason may be, the power of mountains is forever present. Their power is addictive, contagious and they leave you feeling fulfilled as their energy stretches far beyond the mountains themselves.
