The ski mountaineering race suit and the maloja Pushbikers road cycling collection were released last year, thus setting the bar high for any new maloja race wear. To further push our benchmarks we were inspired this season to develop the cross-country race suit.

Combined with our knowledge of performance materials and fit we worked together with World Cup athlete Lucas Bögl to push the technical limits of our state of the art production facility in Bulgaria. The result is a suit that we are not only proud of, but one that sets new standards for future development of Nordic race wear. Throughout the cutting process, special care was taken to ensure garments sections were completely void of any cut line or raised surface in turn making the knees and elbows completely seamless. Next we sourced a special highly elastic mesh material that was used through the center of the back and the under arm area to improve breathability and moisture transport, whilst increasing mobility. The upper outer thigh area is reinforced with “anti-abrasion panels” that act to protect against ski pole movement. For added protection against the wind and cold an extra layer of Lycra® was added to the knee.

There were five development stages between the first prototype and the finished racing suit. We invested in time to ensure every detail was considered before final production and now we are excited to finally see it out on the snow in training and in competition.
