There are two Andis from Bad Aibling in the Maloja family, and I'm the second one. My girlfriend claims the days when I was young are long gone... I passed the 30year line in October 2008. But - so what! It might come to you as a surprise that I'm actually a winter sports person. During the snow-free time of the year bikeriding is my passion, but powder snow is what really makes my heart sing!
My beginnings were kiddy's downhill races from age 4, from whence I followed the usual course of international competitions until I started to concentrate on ski-cross and freeride events at 19. But, age has taken its toll on me and my body, and so right now I prefer the untouched regions ... I'm a soul in the woods. My absolute favourite ski regions are the Wendelstein (home), Arlberg (weekend trip) and Chamonix!
Secretly, I'm sort of proud that I was able to be with Maloja from the very beginnings and I'm really looking forward to continuing being a small part of it.
So, mount your bike and your skis and get going!

Hi,
I'm Andi and come from Bad Aibling in Upper Bavaria, close to Rosenheim. Having just finished school I feel like taking a creative break for awhile to think about my future. While I'm doing that I'd like to get around some, participate in bike contests - and naturally achieve some success there.
I've been active in MTB-Sports for 3-4 years now. I started doing downhill, then switched to dirtjumping in 2005. One of the main reasons was certainly the fact that we have great BA-Trails and a dirtspot that I personally shaped with some of my friends. The dirts were probably the place I spent most time at in the past couple years, next to school (or, uhm.. maybe the other way around ;-)). The trails needed to be maintenanced, well, and I had fun riding them, of course.
Before I started bikeriding I tried out other hobbies, but nothing was as inspiring as this. Why bikeriding? I think it's because I have only myself to rely on, and you can only accomplish things with initiative and discipline. The versatility of this sport continues to motivate me, and I enjoy it every single day!

Servus, i bin der Arne -
bin 27Jahre alt, und wohne in einem oldschool Bauernhof im Allgäu. Das Biken ist schon von Kindesbeinen an mein absoluter Lieblingssport. Da mein Daddy begeisterter Motocrosser war, wurde mir und meinem Bruder Guido die Begeisterung für zwei Räder quasi schon mit in die Wiege gelegt.
So kam ich auch schon ziemlich früh zum BMX-Sport, wo ich bereits im zarten Alter von 5 Jahren mein erstes Rennen bestritt. Später stieg ich dann auf 4X um und nachdem mir diese Art des Bikesports so gut gefallen hat, bin ich bis heute dabei geblieben.
Da ich inzwischen eigenen Grund und Boden besitze, hat es auch nicht lange gedauert, bis ich mir meine eigene Dirt-Line rund um's Haus gebaut habe. So liegt mein Trainingsgelände nun wortwörtlich "vor der Haustür'" und ich kann so fleißig für die nächste Saison trainieren, wo ich wieder richtig Gas geben möchte.
Ich finde es saustark, von Maloja gesponsert zu sein, denn mit lässigen Klamotten macht das Biken gleich noch mehr Laune.

I'm Boris, I'm 17 and I live in Mödling (near Vienna) and in Schladming. I've been an enthusiastic biker since I was 2. I had my first downhill rides on the Planai – and since then my enthusiasm for the discipline has never dwindled. When I was 14 I finally owned my first downhill bike and could enter some races. In the following two years I was privileged to have a special authorisation to participate in national competitions. Downhill is a combination of speed, balance, concentration, skill and risk. These are exactly the factors that fascinate me.
Currently I'm attending a vocational school for top athletes where I get a lot of support for all of my sports activities, on top of getting a good education.
Last summer I was rewarded for my hard training - I won the Austrian Junior Championship and I came in second in the 2007 European Junior Championship. I would never have thought that I could achieve so much in sports, and I am really grateful both to my parents and my sponsors for all their great support.

Hi,ich bin der Flo, bin 20 Jahre alt und komme aus Inzell.
Wie die meisten Kinder in den Bergen, fing ich schon im zarten Alter von 3 Jahren mit dem Skifahren an. Nach meinem Ausscheiden aus dem alpinen Rennlauf im Alter von 15 stieg ich auf Freestyle Ski um und verbringe seitdem im Winter jede freie Minute mit den Skiern im Funpark oder im Backcountry. Zu Anfang gab es nahezu gar keine Freeskier in unserer Umgebung. Mittlerweile hat sich im Chiemgau jedoch viel verändert. Es hat sich eine Freeski-Szene gebildet und Freeskiing wird immer populärer. Mein Homespot ist die Steinplatte. Dort gibt es einen recht guten Park, der gleichzeitig auch als Treffpunkt für die einheimische Szene dient. Im Winter bin ich natürlich auch auf verschiedenen Contests und anderen Events in Deutschland und Österreich unterwegs. Mittlerweile habe ich Sponsoren, die mich beim Ausüben meines Sports unterstützen. Ich bin stolz und glücklich darüber, nun ein Teil des Maloja Teams zu sein und ich hoffe natürlich, dass ich weiterhin viel Spaß und eine gute Zeit beim Ausüben dieses Sports habe und ihn noch viele Jahre betreiben kann.
